Wilma Chestnut, age 79, of Newville, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 in her home.  She was born on February 18, 1941 in New Germantown and was a daughter of the late, Roy D. and Arlene (Burd) Hockenberry.

She worked and retired from Kinney Shoe Store after 26 years. She was a member of Doubling Gap First Church of God, 50 McCrea Road, Newville and The Plainfield Church of God, 2089 Newville Road, Carlisle.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Robert L. Chestnut, sons Jeffery (Cindy) Eckert of Loysville and Michael (Jody) Chestnut of Carlisle, a stepdaughter Rose Turnbaugh of Carlisle, and a sister Velma Zinn of Newville, four grandchildren Kaitlynne Rozzi, Megan Eckert, Timothy and Shania Chestnut and one great-grandchild Isabella Rozzi. Wilma was preceded in death by two brothers David and Robert Hockenberry.

A viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
