Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William Terrance Sheehan, "Bill," age 75. He was formerly from Carlisle, PA, and passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Ajijic, Mexico. Born on February 13, 1950, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Genevieve K. Sheehan and Charles R. Sheehan. Bill was a 1964 graduate of Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Kensington, MD, and a 1968 graduate of Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro, PA. He was also an alumnus of the University of Scranton.

In the 1970s, Bill migrated west and settled in Big Timber, Montana. He later lived in Missoula and Bozeman, where he opened the Bozeman Army Navy Store. In 1986, upon its closure, he, his wife Susan and infant daughter Sarah moved East to Carlisle, PA. Bill worked for several years in professional fundraising before owning and operating the Party Outlet and Quality Wholesale in Carlisle for 25 years.

Bill's greatest joys in life were being a father, husband and a talented musician. His very first band was formed during high school, "The Coachmen". He played incredible bass guitar and remained friends with the bandmates his entire life. He also participated in several local central PA bands playing shows at the Holly Inn, VFW's and various other venues. Bill vigorously enjoyed the outdoors whether it was landscaping, camping in Colonel Denning State Park, laying out in the sun for the beneficial rays aka "bennies" or enjoying quality time with his family. There was always a laugh to be had around him and we will always remember his bright smile, big bear hugs and boundless energy.

Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis P. Sheehan, of Denver, CO. He is survived by his children, Sarah E. Sheehan, of Enola, PA; Michael W. Sheehan of Lancaster, PA; Kevin J. Sheehan, of Lancaster, PA and their mother, Susan L. Sheehan, of Carlisle, PA. He is also survived by his siblings Mary S. Kelly (Jim) of Ocean View, DE; Karen A. Fischer (Ken) of Chicago, IL; and Richard J. Sheehan of Richmond, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society in honor of Bill. A celebration of his wonderful life will be held at a future date with friends and family.

The family would like to extend special acknowledgement and gratitude to the staff of Casa Zoe in Ajijic, as well as Bill's friends in the Ajijic area, especially Bill Sheehan #2 for his efforts, care and compassion.  www.EwingBrothers.com
