William L. Roberts, 76, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at home with family by his side.  He was born on December 16, 1942 in Philadelphia and was a son of the late William V. Roberts and Betty (Carper) Roberts Rhinehart.

Bill graduated from Shippensburg Area High School in 1960 and shortly thereafter entered the US Army.  He was honorably discharged in 1963.  Bill retired after 25 years of service with the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.  Bill was an avid reader.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Janel Colyott and three sisters; Debra Railing, Geraldine "Sis" Roberts and Betty Jean Morrison.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Tammy A. (Bowen) Roberts, one son, William V. Roberts (and his wife Paula) two grandchildren; Jeremiah and Jessica Roberts, one brother, Robert "Bo" Roberts (and his wife, Doris) of Chambersburg, three sisters; Janice Anderson (and her husband, Dennis) of La Vista, Nebraska, Donna Wheatley (and her husband Henry) of Lawton, Oklahoma, Carol S McKee of Newville, sisters-in-law, Jetsy Byers (and her husband, Joe) and Cindy Hailey and several nieces and nephews.
