William A. Fluss, Sr., 65, of Newburg, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 23, 2010 at his home. He was born on Wednesday, June 27, 1945, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Becker A. Fluss and Thelma (Murray) Fluss and was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne (Boldosser) Fluss, who died in 1992.

Bill co-founded and operated, along with his son, Troy, Fluss Flooring, Inc. in Carlisle in 1990 and retired in 2005. He was formerly employed by Tile Masters in Harrisburg for more than 25 years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, being around people and was always there to lend a helping hand for those in need. He also enjoyed coin collecting.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Mary A. (Gaddis) Fluss, three sons; William A., Jr. (and his wife, Ann) Fluss of Newburg, Troy A. (and his wife, Tina) Fluss of Carlisle and Shawn A. Fluss (and his companion, Mindy Rebuck) of Newville, five grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Bill was also preceded in death by two sisters; Joann Cruz and Anne Risser and one granddaughter, Taylor Fluss.

The family will receive friends for a viewing on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Childrens Miracle Network, P.O. Box 855, Hershey, PA 17033.
