William C. Barley, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on Friday, March 12, 1926, in Carlisle, a son of the late Albert and Mary (Lippert) Barley.

Bill was a Carlisle High School graduate and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a self-employed potter for many years and enjoyed his work.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Jean F. (Miner) Barley and one son, Stephen M. Barley of Carlisle.

Private memorial services will be held at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, with Rev. Michael V. Minnix officiating. Burial will also be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 20 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
