Wayne E. Jones, 77, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle. He was born on March 8, 1948, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Roy Wayne Jones and Jeanette (Lay) Jones.
Wayne graduated from Carlisle High School with the class of 1966. He was employed and retired after 44 years of service as an airplane part machinist with T.A.D. in Harrisburg. Wayne was a life member of Newville Assembly of God. For many years, Wayne sang with the Discipleship Ministry of Music and God's Word.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years Tambra "Tammy" L. (Sheaffer) Jones, two sons, Wayne R. Jones of Swansey, NH and Shaun (wife Ashley) Jones of Newville, three daughters, Lisa (husband Roger) Dupert of Newville, Tammy (Chris Snyder) Eshenour of Carlisle and Brandi Jones of Plainfield, two stepchildren, Kayla (husband Gideon) King of Lititz and Derek Nesbit of Blain, three brothers, William (wife Peggy) Jones of Waynesboro, Dan (wife Diane) Jones of Carlisle and Dave (wife Laura) Jones of Landisburg, one sister Vonnie (husband Denny) Schmohl of Carlisle, 14 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife Sabrina (Albright) Jones who passed away in 2001 and one brother Walter Jones.
A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Newville Assembly of God, 400 Oak Flat Rd., Newville, PA 17241. Pastors Jeff Kettering and Mike Kemler will officiate the service. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service at the church. The burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to the ICU Blanket Ministry, C/O Megan Rinaldo, handmade blankets, skeins of yarn, and monetary donations will be collected at the funeral service or can be mailed to 71 Independence Dr., Shippensburg, PA 17257 or to the Newville Assembly of God.
