Walene A. Gambler, 78, of Carlisle and formerly of Harrisburg, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle.  She was born on May 6, 1945, in Johnstown, PA and was a daughter of the late Bert Johnston and Beulah (Fulton) Johnston.  Walene was the widow of Robert Gambler who died in 2021.

Walene graduated from Central Dauphin High School and Harrisburg's Beautician School.  She worked as a beautician for several years and retired from Merck-Medco Inc. after many years in customer service.

She is survived by one son Craig Sheaffer of Harrisburg, one sister Diana (Scott) Faust of Harrisburg and granddaughter Taylor Sheaffer.
