Virginia M. Menges, 86, of Newville, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 in the Carolyn Croxton Slaine Residence in Linglestown.  She was born on December 9, 1932 in Newville and was a daughter of the late David J. and Mary (Salisbury) Nailor.  Virginia was the widow of Franklin P. Menges who passed away on June 3, 2012.

Virginia graduated from Newville High School with the Class of 1950.  She worked with the Big Spring Middle School cafeteria for 18 years.  She was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church in Bloserville, the Big Spring Senior Center and a life member of Order of the Eastern Star – Carlisle Chapter.

She is survived by one son, Jeffery F. (Nancy) Menges of Carlisle, one daughter, Barbara K. Menges of Waynesboro, two sisters; Gladys L. Paxton and Amey M. Griffie, , four grandchildren; Joseph and Matthew Menges and Christopher and Dustin Eby, two great-grandchildren, Emma Menges and Beckett Eby and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel A. Nailor.

Private burial will be held in the Bloserville Cemetery.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is handling the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Frankford Twp. Fire Co., 4080 Enola Rd., Newville, PA 17241.
