Violet Dorothy Myers, 87, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Enola, and was a daughter of the late Christian R. and Mae E. (Berwick) Dell.

Violet had attended John Harris High School in Harrisburg. She had worked for the former Book of the Month, Mechanicsburg, G. C. Murphy Store, People's Drug Store and Piezo Crystal, all of Carlisle. Violet was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Paul L. Myers; one son, Robert (wife, Susan) Myers of Carlisle; two granddaughters; Brittani Shearer of Shiremanstown and Kimberly Lewis of King George, VA; one son-in-law, Steven Shearer of Shiremanstown and one great-granddaughter, Madeline Lewis. Violet was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Shearer, one grandson, Ryan Shearer and one brother, William Dell.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to any local animal shelter.
