Violet M. (Gordon) Fraker, 90, of Carlisle, died Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on April 28, 1930 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Kessel and Mae L. (Dick) Gordon and the widow of Charles J. "Charlie" Fraker who died on July 7, 2011.
Violet was a homemaker and worked for more than 30 years with Carlisle Area School District as the cafeteria manager at the intermediate high school and the Lamberton middle school. Violet enjoyed making and painting crafts, baking and taking care of her family.
She is survived by four sons; Michael E. (and his wife, Sheree) Fraker, James L. (and his wife, Cindy) Fraker, Dennis L. (and his wife, Bonnie) Fraker, all of Carlisle and Terry A. Fraker (and his companion, Cathy "Shortie" Gibson) of Gardners, four daughters; Gloria M. (and her husband, Wayne) Burgett of Wasilla, Alaska, Darlene M. (and her husband, Ethan) Miller, Sandy L. (and her husband, Alvin) Bonawitz and Peggy S. (and her husband, Joe) Stimeling, all of Carlisle, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her siblings, Pauline Shank, Lois Stum, Ruth Duncan and Fred Gordon, her caregiver, April Flood, many nieces and nephews and her pet, Bonjo. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Frederick Fraker, who died in 2008, brothers; Jim, Jake, John, Pete and Eugene Gordon, sisters; Mabel Gordon, Emma Gordon, Anna Mae Gordon and Mildred Gibson, grandson, Joe Railing, granddaughter-in-law, Christi Fraker and great-grandson, Brody Fraker.
A viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 South Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Randy Zook officiating. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. www.EwingBrothers.com.
