Travis Tyler Longacre, 30, of Carlisle, walked with his loving God on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on August 20, 1990, in Carlisle, PA. Travis is the son of Leslie (Collins) Dickerson and her husband George Dickerson, and the late Eddie John Longacre all of Carlisle, and Richard Stackfield of Boiling Springs.
In addition to his parents, Travis is survived by his grandparents George and Beverly Stets, Saundra and Bill Ellis, and the late Edward (Sonny) Longacre all of Newville, and Thomas and the late Julia Stackfield, of Carlisle. Travis is also survived by three sons, Amari Edward Longacre, Carter Tyshon Longacre and Jasir Banks Longacre, two daughters, Ameenah Rose Longacre and Jahara Lynn Longacre; one sister, Janelle Brooke Miller and her husband TJ Laney, 2 brothers, Colton Lee Longacre Sr. and DeVanté Rashad Stackfield, all of Carlisle.
Travis was also a loving and attentive uncle to 2 nieces and 3 nephews: Lillie Myers, TaLayia Laney, Colton Longacre Jr., Tyriq Laney, and Tavian Laney, all of Carlisle. Travis is also survived by his Godfather and Uncle, Matthew Stets of Carlisle, and his Godmother and Aunt, Jill McDonald of New Bloomfield, and a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Travis attended Carlisle High School and was of the Luthern Christian faith. From a very young age, playing and watching football was a true passion. As a child, he was a running back for the Carlisle Midgets and scored 13 touchdowns in one season. In 2003, Travis was one of seven students in the entire USA, to be awarded the Presidential Physical Fitness award plaque, signed by former President George W. Bush. Travis also enjoyed spending time with his family and children, family get-togethers, listening to music, writing song lyrics and poetry, spending time with friends, and reading.
A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Minister Gary Stackfield officiating and Pastor Molly Haggerty sharing a few words. Burial will be private.
