Thomas E. Stackfield, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on
Wednesday, August 17, 2022
, at UPMC Carlisle. He was born on October 22, 1931, in Carlisle and was the son of the late Walter Stackfield and Bessie Wilkinson and was married for 65 years to the late Julia Ann (Palmer) Stackfield, who passed away November 20, 2018.
Tom attended Carlisle Area High School and retired from Carlisle Barracks after 45+ years of employment. He was a banquet set up supervisor, cook and bartender and was loved by many for his dedication to his job. Tom enjoyed fishing, playing cards with family and friends and loved to watch wrestling.
He is survived by six sons, Gary L. Stackfield, Anthony Q. Stackfield (Shanna) and Milton L. Stackfield all of Carlisle, Vincent E. Stackfield (Lynn) of Shippensburg, Richard A Stackfield (Stephanie) of Boiling Springs and Marshall L. Stackfield (Kaye) of San Clemente, CA, three daughters, Angela Stackfield and Mary Porter of Carlisle and Lori Harris of Tampa, FL, two brothers, Curtis and John, one sister Katherine, 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild along with many extended family. He was preceded in death by three sons, William, Charles, and Thomas C. Stackfield, one daughter, Patricia A Thompson, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, Sue, Kathleen and Rachel Mae.
A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022, followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Ivy Berry officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
