Thelma P. Kuhn, 89, of Newville, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010, in her home. She was born on Saturday, January 29, 1921, in South Middleton Township, a daughter of the late Lydia Ott., and the widow of Rev. John L. Kuhn, who died September 16, 2006.

Thelma retired from the former Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co. with more than 30 years of service. She was a longtime and faithful member of South Fairview First Church of God, Newville. Thelma was a former Sunday school teacher and enjoyed helping with the youth activities. She and her late husband made in home church visitations for many years. Thelma enjoyed all church activities and feeding and watching the wildlife around her home.

She is survived by a grandson, Jeff Duncan of Virginia Beach, a granddaughter, Sue Halliday of Roaring Springs, two great-grandchildren; Forrest Duncan and Jen Halliday and several nieces and nephews and host of friends and her church community. Thelma was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Marjorie A. Duncan, who died in 1990.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Harry Madison officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be held on Monday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
