Teresa Rose "Terry" Gustafson passed away peacefully on Jan 1, 2024. She was easy-going, had a kind and gentle spirit, was engaging with everyone she met, and always had a smile on her face.

Terry was born on Jan 5, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward Pickard and Charlotte Wilhelm Conant of Queens, NY, and was the wife of COL (Ret) Carl Severin (Gus) Gustafson of Carlisle. Terry and Carl celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in Jul. Their marriage was filled with laughter, dancing, travel, fun with friends and they never argued.

Terry was a devoted wife and Mom, a friend to all, a lovely hostess to the American military and German communities, and a true partner to her husband, always by his side. She remained close to her childhood friends.

Terry graduated from William Bryant High School, Long Island City, NY in 1957 and Hunter College, NY with a BA in elementary education. She taught school in Brooklyn before getting married.

A member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Terry was an active volunteer throughout her life, including being a Regent of Cumberland County Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); President, Regent's Club of Central PA; Carlisle Area Newcomers Club; and Advance Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader.

In addition to her loving husband Carl, Terry is survived by her son, Charles David (Dave) Gustafson and daughter-in-law Deborah Sue Gustafson, of Dresher PA, her daughter Karen Little Gustafson of Bradenton FL, former sons-in-law John Howell Hurst of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Dale Gene (Gene) Heide of Riverview FL, and three grandchildren, Nicole Lynn Gustafson and Carly Alexis Gustafson, of Sydney Australia, and John Michael Hurst, of Port Saint Lucie FL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover Street in Carlisle with Pastor Titus Clarke officiating. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be viewings from 6:00-8:00 pm on Mon the 8th and 9:30-10:30 am on Tue the 9th at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home.
