Sylvia R. Jacobson, 86, of Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 21, 1927, in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Dorsey G. and Bessie (Keller) McNemar.

Sylvia was a graduate of Nyack Bible College and a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Sylvia ministered with her husband 49 years in CMA churches and 7 years with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Her passion and dedication was working with music, children, youth, and seniors.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Rev. Donald J. Jacobson, a daughter, Janice L. (husband, Edward) Seymour of Catlettsburg, KY, a son, David A. (wife, Jevgenia) Jacobson of Toccoa, GA, a brother, Frank McNemar of Ellijay, GA, a sister, Janice Stoop of Newport Beach, CA, four grandchildren; Justin and Ryan Seymour, Lindsay Miller and Angelika Ozier, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jacobson, a brother, Harold McNemar and a sister, Betty Lantz.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe with Rev. Walt Frankenberry officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Private burial will be in the LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
