Susan M. Love, 74, of Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her home. She was born on May 8, 1947, in Kittanning and was a daughter of the late Adolph and Mildred (Hegar) Lorence.
Susan graduated from Ford City High School with the class of 1965 and attended Airline Training School in Hartford, CT. Susan retired from Dr. Spruill and Wong Dentist Office in Carlisle after 30 years of service as the office administrator. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post and the AmVets Post, both of Carlisle. Susan was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her fun and sharp personality will be missed by all.
She is survived by one son Marc (wife Anita) Love of Bakersfield, CA, one daughter Sara (husband Patrick "Chet") Bowers of Carlisle, one sister Marcia Shank of Carlisle, three brothers, Marc Lorence of Carlisle, Michael Lorence of Naples, FL, and Greg Lorence of Carlisle, five grandchildren, Ethan, Avery, Lucas, Marcus and Matias and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Susan also leaves behind her partner and companion of 12 years COL (Ret) Charles Toomey, US Army of Boiling Springs.
A visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Javed Kashif as the officiant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susan's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
