SFC (Ret) Harold Thomas DeWolf, US Army, 76, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born on Sunday, June 3, 1934, in Omaha, NE, and was a son of the late Charles DeWolf and Lucille (Butler) DeWolf Hamm.

Tom was a Korean War veteran having served in US Marine Corps and was also a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War with two tours of duty. He was awarded many medals and honors during his military career and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class in 1978 with more than 26 years of active service. Tom earned an associate degree in graphic design from Harrisburg Area Community College and owned and operated Creative Graphic Services in Carlisle for several years. He then began working in the graphics department at the New Cumberland Army Depot and retired in 1993 after 10 years of service. Tom was a member of the Glenvale Church of God in Marysville, Eureka F&AM Lodge 302, where he was a 32nd degree mason, the Scottish Rite, the Zembo Shriners, the Tall Cedars Clowns, American Legion Post 143, VFW Post 7415 and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans in Mechanicsburg. Tom was also an ordained minister with the International Gospel Assemblies Inc.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Joann M. (Rohrer) DeWolf, two sons; Dennis R. DeWolf of Glen St. Mary, FL and Wayne S. (and wife, Deb Heisey) DeWolf of Marysville, three step-daughters; Susan (and husband, Paul) Zavalick of Lancaster, Ann Utech Fabula of Freeland, MD and Lois A. (and husband, Dale) Lesher of New Bloomfield, two brothers; Michael DeWolf of Pawtucket, RI and William DeWolf of Ft. Lupton, CO, two sisters; Mary Barychko of Albuquerque, NM and Frances DeMarco of Glenside, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by brothers; Elton, John, Albert and Charles Jr. and sisters; Helen Koder, Mildred Yost and Katherine DeWolf.

Memorial services to celebrate Tom's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, in the Glenvale Church of God, 1970 New Valley Rd., Marysville, with Pastors Larry Hale and Fred Tiday officiating. A masonic service will be held prior to the service on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. Visitation and fellowship will immediately follow the services at the church. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
