SFC (Ret) Blaine L. Havice Jr., US Army, of Carlisle, reported for his final roll call on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at LifeCare Hospitals in Mechanicsburg. He was born on June 1, 1931 in Burnham, PA. He was educated in the schools of Mifflin County.
Blaine was a graduate of Penn State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science and a Master's Degree in American Studies. Blaine served in the United States Army for over 20 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Army of Occupation (Germany) and the Korean Conflict. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the 23rd Infantry Division during the TET offensive. His military awards included the Bronze Star, The Purple Heart, The Army Commendation Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, plus numerous campaign medals with 5 battle stars. Blaine held memberships in numerous fraternal organizations including The Knights of Columbus, The Ancient Order of Hibernians, The DAV, American Legion, and the VFW. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Chapel, Carlisle Barracks and St. Patrick Church in Carlisle.
He is survived by his loving wife, companion, care giver, and best friend, Ann Marie (Lippi) Havice and his loving daughter, Kelly Ann. He is also survived by other numerous family and friends.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, assisted the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
