Sandra "Sandy" Kay Shanabrook Negley
Went to her Heavenly home on Feb. 11, 2026.
-Born Oct 31, 1954, in Mechanicsburg, PA, John and Mildred (Coover) Shanabrook.
A graduate of Mechanicsburg High School in 1972, Sandy excelled in sports throughout school and continued playing softball into adulthood.
-In 1973, Sandy's lifelong friends, Maggie Deihl, Deb Ellerman, Chris Hyman, Jo Darhower, and Elk Ellerman introduced her to the love of her life, Richard Negley. They married in April 1974, and later that year, they welcomed their only child, Robert John. Bob and his family were the light of Sandy's soul.
-Through the years, Sandy's kitchen table at Negley's Ranch welcomed and fed hundreds of hungry hunters, family, and friends. She never failed to offer meals, comfort, and kindness.
-Sandy's greatest treasures, her grandkids Katelyn, born in 1994, and Riley, born in 2013, were the light of her world.
-Bonus grands, Dalton, Betsy, Jarrett, Ellie, Wyatt, Micah, and Sophia added happiness untold to her life.
-Sandy had many special people in her life, Sisters-in-laws, Connie Gayman and the late Barbara Beinhower, Christine Alves, Susan Waggoner, Darlene Dupert, and Lorinda Kelley. She cherished these ladies and held them in her heart.
-Bloserville God's Missionary Church was a vital part of Sandy's life, and teaching children's Sunday School thrilled her heart.
-Sandy spent her entire career working in dental offices, beginning with Dr. Glisson, then for over 30 years with Dr. Mangan and with Dr. Noll until her retirement.
-Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Shanabrook, In-laws Robert and Florence Negley, Brother Ronald Shanabrook, Brothers-in-laws, Harry Negley and Phillip McCreary, Sisters-in-laws, Barbara Beinhower and Martha Growden.
-Sandra is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard E Negley, Son Robert Negley, Daughter-in-law and champion Melanie Negley, Granddaughter Katelyn Negley, and Grandson Riley Negley. Sisters Donna McCreary and Susan (Ron) Beers, Brothers Alan (Kathy) Shanabrook, Dennis Shanabrook, and Brothers-in-laws Wayne (Vonnie) Negley, Harvey (Ann) Miller and John (Connie) Gayman.
-Sandy is also survived by scores of nephews, nieces, extended family, former patients, and the many friends she touched.
-Sandy would leave you with the fact that Jesus loves you, and a relationship with Him will bring you to Heaven to be with her.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev. John Mark Fisher and Robert Negley will serve as the officiants. The burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. www.EwingBrothers.com.
