Evangelist Sandra G. Howard, 70, of Carlisle, had her homecoming with the Lord on Friday, January 7, 2011. She passed to eternal life at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Sandy was born on Saturday, July 27, 1940, in Shickshinny, the daughter of the late Malcomb "Max" and Dorothy (Bower) Sorber. She was the widow of John W. Howard, who died Oct. 14, 2002.

Sandra was a devoted Evangelist and had visited and ministered at many area nursing homes and prisons throughout her life. She graduated from Shickshinny High School. Sandy enjoyed home ministering with her family, a love for art and drawing, doing puzzles and watching movies. She was a real people person and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons; Brent LeForte of Carlisle and Jamie Howard of Etters, two daughters; Corrine Wickard of Carlisle and Wendy Kramer of Gardners, two grandsons; Chad LeForte and Ethan Kramer and one great-grandson, Logan LeForte.

A viewing will be held from 6 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Opossum Hill Church Cemetery, 601 Opossum Lake Rd., Carlisle, with Rev. Robert F. Myers, Sr. officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle Church of God, 458 N. College St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
