Ruth R. Sipe, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at home.  She was born on October 25, 1928 in Marysville and was a daughter of the late John W. and Margaret (Brownawell) Kitner.

Ruth was a loving homemaker.  She had worked as a dietary aide with the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.  Ruth also did house cleaning, babysitting and worked for the former Bedford Shoe Co.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Lester L. Sipe, their four children; Garry W. (Doris) Sipe, Susan M. Minich, Wanda J. Earnest and Bryan E. Sipe, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephew.  She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Gary Minich, 5 sisters; Elsie Adams, Violet Hummel Nickel, Annie Turner, Pauline George and Mabel Smee and 3 brothers; Sam, Archie and Bobby Kitner.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Dale Barrick officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
