Ruth A. Reichert, 85, of New Oxford and formerly of York Springs died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at York Hospital. She was born on March 11, 1932 in Gettysburg, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Riley) Hamilton. She was the widow of Ernie R. Reichert on February 15, 1995.

Ruth was a 1950 graduate of East Berlin High School. She was a loving homemaker and had worked several years in the cafeteria at Bermudian Springs High School.

She is survived by one son, Ernie C. (wife, Linda) Reichert of Gardners, two daughters; Brenda S. Reichert of New Oxford and Debra A. (husband, Barry) Myers of York Springs, three sisters; Margie Murray of Mt. Holly Springs and Shirley Weidner and Patricia Griffie, both of Gardners, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by one son, Michael A. Reichert and two sisters; Pearl Arnsberger and Nellie Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
