Ruth R. Jones, 83, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.  She was born on June 17, 1936 in Reading and was a daughter of the late Rev. William P. Strausser and Loraine (Pannepacker) Strausser.  Ruth was the widow of Ronald L. Jones, who died May 23, 2003.

Ruth graduated from Big Spring High School in 1954 and was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Carlisle.  Ruth was a loving mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her children; Steven L. (wife, Vickie) Jones of Carlisle, Kenneth A. (wife, Pam) Jones of Mt. Holly Springs, Nancy M. (husband, Greg) Kashin of Virginia Beach, VA, Janet L. (husband, Noel) Rodriguez of Carlisle and Ronald M. (wife, Amy) Jones of Ukraine, one brother, William A. Strausser of Felton, one sister, Linda M. Slusser of Carlisle, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  Ruth was preceded in death by one grandson, Benjamin Kramer.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Chuck Kish officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God, Carlisle.  www.Since1853.com.
