Ruth H. Mattey, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on Aug. 8, 1922 in Mechanicsburg and was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ella M. (Gatten) Mainhart. She was the widow of Frank G. Mattey, who died January 17, 2006.

Ruth was a loving homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters; Anna M. Stone of Carlisle and Lois Garcia-Lopez of Harrisburg,7 grandchildren including her loving granddaughter, Kimberly A. Meas of Mechanicsburg,16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by one son, Frank Mattey, Jr., one grandson, Fred L. Stone, Jr. and 11 brothers and sisters.

A viewing will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
