Ruth M. Jones, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle.  She was born on May 25, 1930, in Northfield, VT and was a daughter of the late Ernest Macy and Lila (Hall) Macy.  She was the widow of Lt. Col. (Ret) George M. D. Jones, U. S. Army, who passed away on September 7, 2002.

Ruth graduated from Northfield High School.  She was a devoted Army wife and homemaker.  She formerly attended the United States Army War College Memorial Chapel at Carlisle Barracks.  She had volunteered with the Blood Mobile for many years.

She is survived by two sons, George M. D. (wife Maureen) Jones, II of Nutley, N.J., and Thomas M. (wife Peggy) of South Bend, IN, one daughter, Debra L. (husband Rob) Myers of Carlisle, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother Arnold Macy and five sisters, Euna, Betty, Bernice, Phyllis and Doris.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev.
