Ruth Fields, 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.  She was born on July 6, 1928 in Scranton and was a daughter of the late Ian and Bessie (Williams) Coleman and was preceded in death by husband John M. "Jack" Fields, Sr. and daughter Lynne Schaefer.

Ruth and Jack owned and operated the former Murphy & Clouse Feed Mill for many years in South Middleton Twp.  Ruth volunteered many years and was a former coordinator with the Carlisle Meals on Wheels.  She was a faithful member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle and their altar guild.  Ruth was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by, John M. "Jay" Fields, Jr. (Pattie) of Binghamton, NY, Paul R. Fields (Linda) of Hallstead and Scott R. Fields (Mary) of Fredericksburg, VA, and son-in-law Ken Shaefer of New Castle, DE and eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle and funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in St. John's Episcopal Church, On the Square in Carlisle with Rev. Adam Kradle officiating.  Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial gifts in Ruth's name may be made to the Carlisle Meals on Wheels, 42 Bellaire Avenue, Carlisle, PA 17013.  www.Since1853.com.
