Ruth F. Becker, 86, of Carlisle and formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Chapel Pointe Health Center, Carlisle. She was born on Thursday, November 6, 1924, in New Berlinville, a daughter of the late Arah and Esther (Stahl) Pannepacker, and the widow of William D. Becker, who died September 5, 2002.

Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Hamburg High School and was formerly employed in the food service department at the Hamburg Center. She formerly attended the Bethel Assembly of God in Carlisle.

She is survived by a sister, Grace Creyaufmiller of Carlisle, two nieces, Linda M. (and her husband, Larry) Slusser and Ruth Jones, both of Carlisle, a nephew, William (and his wife, Donna) Strausser of Felton and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Walt Frankenberry officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Smoke Cemetery near Hamburg. Viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the services at the Henry Chapel. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God, 1412 Holly Pike Carlisle, PA 17013.
