Ruby A. Morris, 77, of Green Ridge Village, Newville, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010, in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Wednesday, May 18, 1932, in Augusta, GA, a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Pratt) Jansen and the widow of John A. Morris, Sr., who died Nov. 17, 1998.

Ruby graduated from a girls school in Georgia, and retired as a payroll clerk from the Lutheran Homes Services in York. She also worked for the J. C. Penney Co. in Carlisle for 20 years. Ruby enjoyed crocheting. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother; Ruth, Marian and Sidney.

She is survived by a son, John A. (and his wife, Vickie) Morris, Jr. of Carlisle, a brother, Charles Jansen, Jr. of Kentucky, two grandsons; John A. Morris, III and Brandon S. Morris, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, 1159 Newville Rd., Carlisle with Rev. Lewis Splain officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
