Ronald G. Wiskemann, age 78, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born on Wednesday, January 25, 1933, in Natrona Heights. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Blanche (Martz) Wiskemann.

Ron retired after 48 years from PPG Industries as a shift supervisor. He was a United States Marine Veteran, receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Ron was a member of St. Patrick Shrine Catholic Church in Carlisle. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Harriette M. (Domaracki) Wiskemann, two daughters; Mary Beth (and husband, Stefan) Enggren of New Cumberland, Susan L. (and husband, Matthew) Thomas of Fredrick, MD, a son, Mark (and wife, Diane )Wiskemann of Shippensburg, a sister, Phyllis Thomson of Tarentum, two brothers; Kenneth Wiskemann of Natrona Heights and Marlin Wiskemann of New Kensington and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wiskemann.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, at St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Patrick's New Cemetery, Carlisle. Arrangements are being handled by Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Inc., 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to his church in care of the new activity center.
