Ronald Max Shearer, 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on June 15, 1933, in Doylesburg and was the son of the late Eugene M. Shearer and Thelma (Wiser) Shearer and the widower of Margaret (Trail) Shearer who passed away on November 26, 2023.

Ronald graduated from Lewistown High School, earned a bachelor's degree at Shippensburg University, and a master's in education at Penn State University.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war.  Ronald spent over 30 years with the Carlisle School District where he retired as the Assistant to the Superintendent.  He was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church, American Legion and a life member of the Carlisle Elks.

He is survived by one daughter Johnna J. (husband Richard M. Jr.) Kopecky of Lebanon, one son Michael M. (wife Sherry L. Orlowsky) Shearer of Fuquay Varina, NC, five grandchildren, Amy N. Kopecky, Ricky M. Kopecky, III, Forrest T. Deily, Bailey M. Shearer and Connor M. Shearer and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one sister Sandy Bossert and brother in-law Lee Bossert.
