Ronald D. Fenton, 82, of Newville, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on May 20, 1941, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Earl D. Fenton and Esther R. (Sollenberger) Fenton.

Ron earned his GED while serving in the U. S. Navy from 1959 to 1963.  He retired from Carlisle Tire & Wheel after 40 years of service.  He was a faithful member of South Fairview First Church of God where he was a choir member and volunteered as the fellowship room coordinator.  Ron was a member of the Carlisle Eagles.

He is survived by one sister Shirley L. Harrison of Newville, two nieces, Virginia L. McCalister and her husband Paul of Newville and Nancy L. Mentzer and her husband Gene of Newville, three great-nieces, one great-nephew and many great-great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother Gary James Fenton and one sister Betty Fenton.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating.  The burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in South Fairview First Church of God Cemetery.  A time of fellowship will follow the burial at South Fairview First Church of God, 1212 Centerville Rd., Newville, PA 17241.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
