Ronald Eugene Copenhaver, 78, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at his home. He was born on May 19, 1941 and was the son of the late S. Ross and Charlotte L. Copenhaver. Ron grew up on a dairy farm in Ramey, PA.
Ron was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School, earned his Bachelor's degree from Clarion State College and a Master's Degree from Penn State University. He started his career as an educator teaching exceptional children for 7 years. For the next 30 years, he was employed by the PA Board of Probation Parole where he retired as the Director of Court Services. Ron was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, a Master Mason from Adams Lodge No. 319, and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Jusick Copenhaver, one son, Todd Copenhaver and his wife, Sherri, of Atlanta, GA, one daughter, Kristen Eisemann and her husband, LTC (Ret) Andrew Eisemann, US Army of Carlisle, one sister, Carol Reese and her husband, James of Alexandria, VA, grandchildren, Ross, Avery, Kathleen, Natalie, and Cassidy, one brother in law, Stephen Jusick and his wife, Nancy of Princeton, NJ, nieces and nephews; Jill, Stephen Kent, Jamie and James. Ron's greatest loves were his family and friends. His passion was the outdoors and his true joy was spending time boating on the creek, fishing, hunting, and working with those he loved.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Columbarium at the church. Visitation and fellowship will follow the service in the church parish hall.
