Roger D. Young, 53, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the P. S. Hershey Medical Center.  He was born on December 24, 1967 in Carlisle and was a son of the late Donald L. Young and Helen E. (Ensminger) Tyler.

Roger graduated from Big Spring High School with the Class of 1987.  He was a three-time PA State Champion Pole Vaulter and formerly held the State and Big Spring High School record.  He currently owned and operated along with his wife, BKS Signs in North Middleton Twp. for more than 10 years.  Roger's passions were his family and friends, coaching track, and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Kristin (Carns) Young, two sons, Brady P. and Calvin J. Young, both at home, two brothers, Kevin Young (Wendy) of Orrstown and Daryl Young (Christine) of Camp Hill, one sister Crystal Herder (Gene) of Rapid City, SD. Brother in Law Tim Carns (Stacy) of Columbia SC, one aunt, one uncle and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 followed by a Celebration of Roger's life at 2:00 p.m. in the New Hope Church of God, 1250 Waggoners Gap Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013 with Pastor Dick Warner officiating. Service will also be streamed on FB Live at Dick Warner's FB site.
