Obituary

Robert E. Williams Sr., 82, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 21, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1943, in Higginsport, Ohio, to the late Marshall and Isabelle (Morehead) Williams. He was married to his beloved wife, Lynn E. (Wrightstone) Williams, for thirty-six years.

Robert was raised in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, and graduated from Fleming County High School with the Class of 1962. He later continued his studies at Lexington Community College, the Computer Learning Network, and the International Correspondence Schools.

Robert spent much of his career working as a computer analyst. He worked for nineteen years at IBM and later for ten years with the Rite Aid Corporation.

He was a faithful member of Carlisle United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and participated on various church committees. Robert was also a member and sponsor with Alcoholics Anonymous in Carlisle and was formerly a member of Sardis Masonic Lodge #8 in Lexington, Kentucky.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Williams Jr. (wife Antoinette) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Henry Williams (wife Kelly) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters, Suzette Powell (husband Aaron) of Dallas, Texas, and Michelle Johnson (husband Derrick) of Lexington, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Houston Williams and Charles Williams, and two sisters, Ella Peppers Goodrich and Lois Harris.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 333 S. Spring Garden St., Carlisle, PA 17013. Rev. Jacob Waybright will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.

A fellowship luncheon will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. www.EwingBrothers.com.
