Obituary

Robert G. Strine, 87, of Carlisle, passed to eternal life on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle. He was born on July 14, 1928 in Carlisle, a son of the late William K. E. Strine and Grace (Fisher) Strine, and was married to the late Violet R. (Nailor) Strine, who died November 17, 2009.

Bob retired as an assistant maintenance supervisor for Dickinson College after many years of service, and had worked for the former Robert Noll Construction Co. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of the Faith Chapel, Carlisle. Bob was also a member of the Cumberland Star Masonic Lodge 197-Carlisle, the Carlisle Special Fire Police, where he served as a Captain for 7 years, the V.F.W. Post 477-Carlisle, the Fireman's Assoc. of Southeastern PA and a life member of the Cumberland County Fire Police Association.

He is survived by two sons; Robert G. Strine, II of Carlisle and Jeffrey M. (wife, Nancy) Strine of Carlisle, one sister, Dorothy Lehman of Carlisle, two granddaughters; Michelle and Melissa and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike, Carlisle, with Pastor Michael Mayer officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial gifts in Bob's name may be made to Faith Chapel.
