Robert W. "Red" Steinour, Sr., 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at UPMC West Shore, Mechanicsburg.  He was born on January 26, 1940, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Edgar Steinour and Eleanor (Magee) Steinour White.

Robert served in the PA National Guard and was activated to the Army for several months.  He earned his G.E.D.  Robert retired from the maintenance department at Carlisle Syntec after many years of service.  After retirement, he worked for the Western Village R. V. Park as the groundskeeper.  Robert was a member of the Carlisle Salvation Army and the American Legion Post 26 in Dillsburg.

He is survived by his wife of many years Helen M. (Smith) Steinour, three sons, Robert W. (Susan) Steinour, Jr. of Carlisle, David W. Steinour of Carlisle, and Barry L. (Felicia) Steinour of Mt. Holly Springs, two brothers, Andrew and Dennis Steinour, four sisters, Dolores Everett, Judy Vulgamott, Donna Thumma and Mary Cramer, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Robert was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise and Lisa Steinour, one daughter-in-law Nellie Steinour and two granddaughters, Christine Steinour and Amanda Price.

A viewing will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, followed by funeral services at 4:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Captain Oziel Urbaez and Major Tammy Hench officiating.  A time of fellowship will follow the services at the Carlisle Salvation Army.  Burial will be at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Salvation Army, 20 E.
