For 36 years, Phelps Dodge (Bisbee/Morenci, AZ) was the beneficiary of Robert's unequalled work ethic. Robert continued building his resume as a Corrections Officer at the Cochise County Jail (Bisbee, AZ) working there for six years.

On January 28, Robert was reunited with his parents (Reinhold and Winifred), sisters (Dorothy, Mary Lu, and Louise), and brothers (Merton and Raymond). Surviving siblings Ruth (Sierra Vista, AZ) and William (Goodyear, AZ) continue the Hendricks' heritage of humor and compassion. In addition to being the loving husband and father, Robert was "Uncle Bob" to 27 nieces and nephews, as well as being Grandpa to three and Great-grandpa to five.

For more than 23 years, Robert enjoyed the well-earned life as a retiree. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing - especially fishing - and many sports, in particular, baseball. From coaching the three boys in baseball for 12 years to attending Baltimore Orioles games, the American pastime gave him great pleasure. However, it was his love of family that guided Robert's life. He will be missed by all. Smiles will forever follow each thought and memory of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on February 20th at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, Arizona. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, assisted the family with the arrangements.
