Richard L. Orris, 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Dillsburg, and was a son of the late John M. and Bertha M. (Baker) Orris.

Dick attended Carlisle High School and was always busy with work. He had worked at the former Minerva Yarn, Potts Manufacturing, Flight Systems and Ledgehill Greenhouses. Dick also did handyman work for several local families for many years. He was a charter member of Carlisle Fish & Game Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his friend Bob.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha E. (Keck) Orris and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Clarence L. "Chink" Orris.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016in the Westminster Cemetery, Newville Rd, Carlisle followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St, Carlisle, with Chaplain Bradley V. Moore officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
