Richard L. "Brownie" Brown, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on August 23, 1938, in Carlisle and was a son of the late George A. Brown and Alta May (Yinger) Brown.  He was married to the late June D. (Hurley) Brown.

Brownie graduated from Carlisle High School in 1957.  Soon thereafter, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963.  He retired from AMP Inc after many years of service.  Brownie enjoyed watching baseball and basketball and played both sports for Carlisle High School.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a niece Tina (Myers) Miller of Dillsburg.  Richard was preceded in death by one brother John Brown.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor James Yutzy officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
