Rebecca K. Zimmerman, 73, of Shermans Dale, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at home.  She was born on September 1, 1949, in Carlisle and was the daughter of the late Donald H. Sheaffer and Alice M. (McCabe) Sheaffer.  She was the widow of John D. Zimmerman who passed away in 2011.

Rebecca retired after 23 years as a machine operator at G.S. Electric.

She is survived by a stepson, Michael Zimmerman of Shippensburg, a stepdaughter, Stephanie Sheriff of Carlisle, two brothers, Paul Sheaffer and Charles Sheaffer, four sisters, Susan McDonough, Catherine Heller, Claire Booth, and Barbara Gladfelter and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Sheaffer and one sister Paulette Mellott.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., with Rev. Robert Woodall.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service.  Private burial will be at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. www.EwingBrothers.com.
