Obituary

Raymond D. Miller, 74, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.  He was born on September 4, 1944 in Carlisle and was the son of the late Raymond George Miller and Carrie C. (Kadle) Miller.

Raymond graduated from Carlisle High School with the class of 1962.  He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  Raymond worked from his home for 45 years as an Independent Insurance Salesman.  He was a Past Commander of Carlisle AmVets Post 274 and was currently serving as the Central Region Commander.  Raymond was also a member of Eagles Aerie 1299, the White Circle and the American Legion.  Raymond enjoyed riding steam trains and working with computers.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Carol A. (Hirst) Miller and many cousins.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Raymond Martin officiating.  Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AmVets Ladies Auxiliary Post 274, 1580 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, PA 17013.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
