Raymond P. Hemler, 86, of Carlisle passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at UPMC West Shore. He was born on February 17, 1937 in Hanover, and was a son of the late Ray Hemler and Mary (Bunty) Hemler.

Ray graduated from Delone Catholic High School in 1955 and was a manager of the former A&P Grocery store in Carlisle and a regional manager for Handy Markets. Ray transitioned to and retired from AMP, Inc. and would often work night shift to help provide care for his disabled daughter. He was a member of Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill and served on the technical crew as a camera operator until recent years.

He leaves a legacy of great love for God and his family. He is survived by two sons and their families, Patrick (wife, Joy) of Savage, MD, and Stephen (wife, Margaret) of Boiling Springs. One grandson, Paul (wife, Jessica), five granddaughters, Ruth (husband, David), Sarah, Madison, Sydney and Amelia, one great-granddaughter, three great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Donna Marie Hemler, and daughter, Lisa Marie Hemler.

A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating.  The burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, wycliffe.org, or Convoy of Hope, convoyofhope.org.
