Ralph L. Peffer, 78, of Carlisle, Passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.  He was born on July 12, 1945, in Carlisle and was a son of the late George F. Peffer and Hilda (Wolfe) Peffer.

He graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1965. Ralph served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a longtime farmer and worked with Fickes Silos in Newville. Ralph loved dirt track racing, NASCAR, watching sports, being outdoors, his friends, family and especially being a "Pappy".

He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years Roseann (Fink) Peffer, one daughter Winter R. F. (Michael) Detwiler of Carlisle, three brothers, Wayne, Marlin and Lloyd Peffer, all of Carlisle, four sisters, Evelyn Bear, Betty Garman and Doris Sarber, all of Carlisle and Joyce Stine of Mechanicsburg, two grandsons, Ace and Jett Detwiler. He also has many nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by one brother Harold Peffer and two sisters, Shirley Shughart and Lois Myers.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Dick Warner officiating.  The burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  There will be a viewing on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ralph's name to a favorite charity of your choice. www.EwingBrothers.com.
