Obituary

Rae Ann Myers, 69, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at her home.  She was born on August 11, 1954, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Robert L. Finkey and Elsie (Smith) Finkey.

She was a Shippensburg High School graduate.  Rae retired after many years of service with the U. S. Department of Agriculture.  She was a member of the Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, Newville and where she was an active volunteer.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel R. (wife Jennifer) Myers and Kevin M. Myers, both of Shippensburg,  three brothers, Stephen R. Finkey, David S. Finkey, both of Shippensburg and Michael A. Finkey of Chambersburg, two sisters, Marjorie L. (David) Mengle of Mechanicsburg, and Beth Anne Keller of Shippensburg, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, in the Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Rd, Newville, PA 17241.  In keeping with the way she lived her life, the service will be semi-formal (no need for suits or Sunday best) and we will be having coffee and pie to enjoy while celebrating her life.  Everyone is invited and please feel free to bring along a pie to share with everyone.  Memorial contributions may be made to Dog-Harmony, Inc., 107 Surfsong Ln, Unit B2, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
