Obituary

Philip D. Good, 87, of Carlisle, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1928 in Waynesboro, a son of the late Donald T. and Catherine (Good) Good, and was married to the late Helen L. (Elliott) Good, who died Jan. 10, 2006.

He was a 1947 graduate of Carlisle High School. Philip retired from the Lines Auto Parts Warehouse in Newville and had worked in the automobile industry most of his life. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and Eagles Aerie 1299, both of Carlisle. Philip was a former member of the Cumberland Star Masonic Lodge 197, Carlisle, the Harrisburg Consistory and the Zembo Temple Shrine, Harrisburg.

He is survived by one son, Kevin Good of Camp Hill, two daughters; Cynthia A. Good of Carlisle and Sherri L. Good of Harrisburg, two grandchildren; Molly and Isaac Good, both of Boiling Springs, one brother, Robert Good of Carlisle, three sisters; Janet Ellerman and Mary Weir, both of Carlisle and Joann Copenhaver of Florida, a former daughter-in-law, Mary Good-Cornman of Boiling Springs and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Cathy L. Good, one sister, Martha Bowermaster and one brother, Karl Good.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St, Carlisle, with Pastor Rob Moore officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of the service. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. Interment will be private at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations in Philip's name may be made to his church.
