Philip L. Devenshire, Sr., 63, of Carlisle, died on Thursday, July 9, 2015. He was born on Feb. 7, 1952 in Carlisle and is a son of Alvana (Brooks) Brown of Carlisle.

He was a high school graduate and had attended the Tree of Life Church in Carlisle. Philip had worked in commercial construction most of his life.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Philip L. Devenshire, Jr., one daughter, Yolanda Devenshire, one brother, Jay (Sonya) Brown, one sister, Norma "Cookie" Reeves, all of Carlisle, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a host of extended family members.

A viewing will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 17, 2015 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Tree of Life Church, 50 "K" Street, Carlisle, with Pastor Dave Herr officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Tree of Life Church.
