Pauline L. Shank, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Harrisburg Hospital.  She was born on June 11, 1931 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Kessel R. Gordon and Mae Laura (Dick) Gordon.  She was married to the late John W. Shank for 53 years before his passing on March 15, 2007.

Pauline was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and breakfast out with family and friends at local diners, but what gave her the most joy was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons; Ernest E. Shank and his wife Jenny of Carlisle, Donald R. Shank and his wife Suzanne of Katy, TX and Walter A. Shank and his wife Diane of Carlisle, two daughters; Deborah L. Schaefer and Vickie L. Davis of Carlisle, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, her siblings Lois Stum, Ruth Duncan, Fred Gordon, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law; Harry Schaefer and Joe Davis, her brothers; Jim, Jake, John, Pete and Eugene Gordon, and sisters; Mabel Gordon, Emma Gordon, Anna Mae Gordon, Violet Fraker and Mildred Gibson.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 followed by funeral services at 11:00 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
