Paul J. Pfarr, 71, of Shermans Dale, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at his home. He was born on Nov. 9, 1942, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Paul L. and Margaret (Neff) Pfarr, and was the widow of Sylvia L. (Hipple) Pfarr, who died Oct. 17, 2004.

Paul was a 1960 graduate of Central Dauphin High School and served in the PA National Guard during the Vietnam War. He retired from Valk Manufacturing Co. in New Kingstown and had also worked for the Texas-Eastern Pipeline Co.

He is survived by his daughter; Becky R. Pfarr of Shermans Dale and his children from his marriage; Keith A. Gibson of Gardners, Gerald E. and Daryl L. Failor, both of Shermans Dale, Barry L. Failor of Gardners and Shane Failor of Mifflinburg and Roma E. Drake of Dillsburg., two brothers; William Pfarr of Carlisle and Robert Pfarr of Arizona, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by one sister, Patty Pfarr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Cheryl A. Dorman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A viewing will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to his daughter, Becky R. Pfarr, P. O.
