Paul L. Garman, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on May 20, 1933, in Lower Frankford Twp., Cumberland County and was a son of the late Chester C. Garman and Rebecca (Raudabaugh) Garman.

Paul was a life-long farmer in West Pennsboro Twp.  He was an active member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Carlisle.  Paul loved to work and farm.  He was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Bureau and was a former director of the Cumberland Valley Cooperative, Shippensburg.  Paul loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, family vacations, and bus trips.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Betty L. (Peffer) Garman, three daughters, Maxine (Jerry) Barrick, Dolores (Dave) Wiser and Karen (Bill) Neidigh, all of Carlisle, two brothers, Walter and Jesse Garman, seven grandchildren, Matt Barrick, Michelle McBride, Greg Barrick, Curt Wiser, Ryan Wiser, Jason Neidigh and Darren Neidigh, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Paul was preceded in death by one son Roger L. Garman, seven brothers, John, Clarence, Norman, George, Merle, Chester and Marlin Garman and six sisters, Clara Yarlett, Mary Garman, Thelma Garman, Alma Garman, Hazel Garman and Ruth Kuhn.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St, Carlisle.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastors Herbert Kidd and Jeffrey Cartwright officiating.  Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hill United Methodist Church, 399 Pinedale Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015, or to Broad River Ministries, c/o Herbert Kidd, 38 E.
