Paul Barrick, 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at UPMC Carlisle. He was born on April 1, 1941, in Carlisle, to the late LeRoy A. and Edith F. (Brown) Barrick.
Paul graduated with the class of 1960 from Big Spring High School. He played high school baseball and later softball into his late 50's. He proudly served in the National Guard Reserve for six years. Paul worked for his father in the family roofing business, LeRoy A. Barrick & Sons, eventually co-owning the business with brother, Marlin, and later owning the business until Paul's retirement in 2003.
Paul was a former member of the McAllister United Methodist Church, Carlisle. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Sportsman Club, a life member of the N.R.A. and the Mt Holly Fish & Game. Paul loved hunting, fishing, block shoots, sports events and traveling. He equally loved his family. Though he was a quiet man he had an enormous infectious laugh who loved to joke with people.
Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dianne E. (Turner) Barrick, one son Timothy P. (wife Krista) Barrick of Carlisle, one daughter Lisa D. (husband Joshua) Garman of Carlisle, one sister Anna Mae Wickard of Carlisle, four grandchildren, Wade Barrick, Landon Miller, Brooke Barrick, and Brinley Miller and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd N. Barrick and Marlin L. Barrick, and one sister Ruth Hockenberry.
A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Quinton DeBeer officiating. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
